Lymphatic Drainage Therapy for post-surgical swelling and Lymph disorders

Your lymph system is a prime mover of fluid in the body and directly tied to your immunity. Your lymphatic system transports a fluid called lymph throughout your body. Lymph contains high levels of white blood cells; it works to eliminate toxins, waste, and pathogens from the body and to help fight

Health conditions, stress, and other factors can cause blockages in the circulation of lymph. The lymphatic system can be acutely damaged through surgery, trauma, chronic conditions, systemic issues, or poor circulation. Manual lymphatic drainage, developed by Danish physician Emil Vodder, uses gentle, circling strokes to remove these blockages and stimulate the flow of lymph to support healthy immune function.

When the system malfunctions or are taxed in such a way, an experienced therapist can help facilitate the fluid manually through the channels and nodes to relieve the pressure locally. Lymphatic Drainage Therapy is generally slow and uses light touch to effectively move fluid when your body cannot.

Lymphatic massage therapy is incredibly useful for post-surgical swelling, people who have had lymph node removal or damage, and chronic lymph conditions.
